One of the things that I hold most dear to me, is being not only a veteran of the United States Navy, but also, being a U.S. Marine wife. It's something that some people never could imagine doing, and I was one of those. I always said I wouldn't marry someone in the military, but God had other plans for me. I'm so glad I did. I've found some of the best friends, closest relationships and bonds that can never be broken.

What families go through, while they're spouse is away, or while they're son, daughter, family member is gone, is something no one can understand, without being there. Nothing can make them understand, not the media, not little work trips for their family member, its nothing like the stresses of war being a threat to your loved ones life. Because I understand this, and get the feelings that these families are going through, I felt really compelled to join a awesome group of photographers that my friend Tonee Lawrence started called, Oplove. (Operation: Love Reunited). This is a service for families to receive free portraits right before a deployment or during, and at the homecoming. I got involved with them and fell in love with photographing homecomings. It was something that just fit, and felt so right. Being there for these families the moment they saw they're loved one again was right where I was supposed to be. During the time when I was involved, my husband was in Afghanistan, so it only seemed fit that I still be apart of the deployments and help capture some of the sweetest memories that these families now have to last forever. I have a strong passion to support the military and its families and will always have that in my heart. They say, "Once a Marine, Always a Marine", well I believe, "Once a Marine wife, Always a Marine wife!". I've been moved far away from the marine corps bases, here in Georgia, but in my heart I'm still right there with all of my families, going through life together!
