Heres a beautiful portrait of Mark and Shelly! Without doing anything to the picture(Coming straight out of my camera in RAW to my Lightroom) I knew it was a perfect image. But it needed some UMPH!! So Heres a before and after of some “Umph”. Aren’t Mark and Shelly adorable?!?
WHAT does this have to do with you and your shoot?? Well…When a session is over, I upload all the images to Adobe Lightroom and begin the “Culling” process. I go through, remove the blurry ones, funny lazy eyes, one eye open type thing.. Then I go through and make general exposure adjustments, adjust the contrast, tweak white balance (Thats photographer talk for the temperature of your image, does it have a warm feel, cool feel, etc..), I also then go through and apply a few small other things in Lightroom. Well then I am left with say 100 images left, what I do is select a handful of my favorite images and do the additional editing to them and then upload them to your private gallery to view/purchase prints from. All won’t have these effects, but when you select an image for purchase it will then get re-touched up again in the ordering phase and will receive special edits! If you do not want it to change that must be known prior to ordering! Otherwise, photographers judgement is the final decision on the effect it will receive.
So that was long and painful, sorry! Just wanted to share with you all the process and how things go! Enjoy the Before and afters! I can’t wait to photograph baby Braden, he’s adorable and I am excited to meet him!
