Recently I went up to LA for a Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Tour, and it was amazing! I learned so much so fast. Even though we were told we didn’t have to take notes, I frantically scribbled away in my notebook that they so graciously provided! I learned so many things. I also joined the National Association of Photoshop Professionals for two years, what a steal! I got it at a student rate so it was swwweeet!! I also got two free items for signing up at the convention! A DVD Full of Lightroom stuff from Matt Kloskowski from lightroomkillertips.com, that is a cool place for photographers to go who use lightroom!! I also received a free Lightroom book and I got Scott’s autograph and got to talk to him, boy was I blushing, I was nervous!! Thanks to the kind gentleman that took my photograph with Scott, he was a local California photographer as well. I didn’t do as much networking as I’d of like to do, but I did find out about some cool things photographers might want to buy. www.rgbkeys.com
This lady had this awesome little extension of a keypad connected to her Macbook Pro, it was programmed for lightroom shortcuts so you can speed up your editing, who wants to spend weeks editing I don’t! I might be investing in this tool. Scott taught so many tips for lightroom users, I won’t go on and on about that because I’m not a good teacher, but just trust me he did! He was very nice as well. I talked to him, and if you have read any of his many awesome books, he talks just like the book sounds, what do you know?! Lol!! He has a great sense of humor and is very easy to listen to. I learned so much on editing and selecting your final images, ways to streamline your process and cut out images that are bad, etc.. it was a blast. Now the traffic, that was something else all together. Heres my pics of my journey to Downtown LA (I used my little Canon point and shoot so excuse the bad photography)

Here’s me in traffic at sunrise on my way there(1 hour 20 minutes)

Bad pic.. I know!! Moving in traffic while I’m driving and I don’t know where I am!!
Lol.. I know just the convention center, but I felt so neat going to my first convention..

So excited I got to take a picture with him! He’s VERY nice!!
(Sorry Scott the point and shoot wasn’t too great of a camera)
I was very nervous! lol
then again on my way home, in dark! (1 1/2 hour though..), oh my gosh, I’m sitting here thinking how did I get home the same amount of time as I went… I JUST REALIZED I took the carpool lane home, totally accidental, I’m use to taking it w/ my kids and I didn’t even think twice, wow! Thank God I wasn’t pulled over!! wow!!
Well I’m definitely looking forward to future conventions and seminars by Scott Kelby. Thanks so much for your hard work and giving back to the community so so many of us can learn and benefit from your great success. See Scott Kelby’s photoshop seminars at www.photoshopseminars.com.
